Accomplishments

Since 2019, Judge George has led Fort Bend County with fairness, fiscal responsibility, and innovation. He has secured over $600 million in grantswithout raising taxes, guided the county through major disasters with top-ranked emergency response, and invested in infrastructure, mobility, and economic growth. His leadership reflects a balanced approach—protecting residents, strengthening the economy, and preparing Fort Bend for the future.

  • Passed historic mid-decade redistricting to restore fairness to Fort Bend County. Judge George fought for Commissioners Court to reflect the makeup of Fort Bend County.
  • Created a Grants Manager position and secured over $600 Million in federal, state, local and private grants to support infrastructure, mobility, economic development and law enforcement projects with no additional expense to taxpayers.
  • Passed common-sense budgets with NO tax-rate increase since taking office in 2019.
  • Voted against the latest budget due to a $39 Million deficit. Judge George believes that the county must live within its means just as Fort Bend residents must do in their own households.
  • Launched “Project Brazos” to study and stabilize erosion zones along the Brazos River
  • Implemented robust emergency response efforts, ranking among the top five counties in Texas for emergency support effectiveness
  • Prioritized Public Safety/Law Enforcement, Infrastructure, Mobility/Transportation and Economic Development
  • Entered into public-private partnerships for the construction the Epicenter event venue and also for of a new law enforcement training and education facility currently under construction with an estimated completion date of 2026.
  • Led Fort Bend County through major natural disasters including:

  • Winter Storm Uri
  • Winter Storm Enzo
  • Constructed a new Office of Emergency Management Emergency Operation Center to provide a high-tech command center where emergency response personnel from across diverse agencies could gather to respond to emergencies and natural disasters. Instead of relying on outdated or scattered systems, emergency personnel can now operate with real-time data, integrated communication systems, and faster coordination across agencies.
  • Introduced flood cameras and mobile command to improve disaster monitoring. The installation of flood cameras throughout Fort Bend
  • County allows emergency teams to monitor rising water levels and conditions across critical zones instantly.
  • Created the Department of Opportunity & Development to seek out new economic development projects in Fort Bend County to improve Fort Bend’s economy and create jobs. The department’s “Select Fort Bend” campaign provides resources for companies looking to start or relocate to Fort Bend.
  • Honors our Fort Bend military veterans with an annual Veteran’s Day ceremony.
  • Supported local charitable organizations over many years including Meals-on-Wheels which provides a safety net for our local senior citizens in need. Judge George continues to recognize local charities end encourages donations to entities such as Rosenberg-Richmond Helping Hands, Catholic Charities, East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry and the Fort Bend Care Center.
  • Created a Fall Festival at the historic courthouse where local schoolchildren can celebrate Halloween in complete, supervised safety and interact with various county officials and departments.
  • Invested in infrastructure by passing a series of bonds including mobility, parks, and drainage, which was the first of its kind in Fort Bend County history.
  • Opened the Rosenberg transportation facility with 100 buses, providing over 400,000 rides annually to reduce congestion and provide mobility solutions to vulnerable communities including the disabled and senior citizens
